Unforgettable, Haunting, Soul-Stirring… Love’s Memory

A few weeks ago I received a message from Shannon O’Donnell. A new author whose first book, Love’s Memory: The Scotts of Mountain Ridge Book One, is available today on Amazon.

After talking with Shannon about Love’s Memory she sent me a portion of it to read and review. At first, I let it sit in my inbox. Still not sure if I wanted to embark on reading a new book yet or unsure if it would actually be any good. I was wrong.

I was captivated from the first page. This is a story of love, of forgiveness, and of grace. One that will have you hooked from the beginning and wondering what events happened in the past that leave Valerie angry with her sister? Can Manny and Valerie renew their love for each other? Why does Valerie have such a hard time expressing her love for her daughter, Wren? After, a devastating accident and suffering from amnesia how is Valerie to discover who she is? Who her family is? And how to survive?

It is only when you lose yourself that you find out who you are.” Valerie Mahoney, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, falls deeply in love with basketball star Manny Scott. Against his parents’ wishes, the two wed and baby Wren soon follows. Years later adversity strikes and Manny begins questioning his youth decisions, including his love for his wife. Heartbroken, Valerie flees one night but a disastrous accident leaves her with amnesia. Distraught, Manny begins the desperate quest to find a wife who doesn’t recognize him and return her home. Experience this soul-stirring story of God’s redemptive power in LOVE’S MEMORY, Book One in the Scott’s of Mountain Ridge Series.

Love’s Memory is the perfect curl up by the fire book. The perfect story to prepare our hearts for Valentine’s Day as we begin to focus on love. But don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what others are saying.

Love’s Memory was immediately engaging and I had a really difficult time putting the book down! Shannon does a wonderful job of weaving together different parts of the story to create a moving and truly meaningful message. I identified with so many of the characters at different parts of the book. Not only was the story itself an entertaining read, but Shannon also reminded me in such deep ways of the grace that is extended to all of us by the Father and that He is continually working for our good. His way is so perfect in our messy and chaotic world. ~ Mikah

I don’t normally read this sort of book, but honestly I couldn’t put it down. It has a gripping plot and vibrant characters–situations and people that I easily identify with– which leads me to recommend it highly to anyone. Love’s Memory is a charming and captivating read. A great book to keep on the shelf. A rare five stars from me. ~ Juliet P.

I loved this book from beginning to end. Once I started I had to finish! You get completely drawn into the characters and their stories and have to know what is going to happen next. It reminded me of reading a Karen Kingsbury novel. ~ Alecia

It really is good and is a fairly easy read. I got hooked on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo back when I was nursing Noah a lot. Like you it’s hard to come across a lot of spare time to read now.
