This past weekend we went to visit ML’s family. Nothing like a four and half five plus hour drive with an almost five month old. Apparently, Noah is only good for around three hours of driving at a time. But who can blame her… it’s not like we actually enjoy sitting in the car for that long either. We were excited to spend time with family, so the drive was worth it.
Saturday, the whole (almost) extended family got together for lunch. Before lunch though, Noah spent a little time hanging out with her cousin Grayson.

They are only eight days apart and had so much fun together. Noah kept reaching for his hand and Grayson was all smiles and giggles for Noah. I am sure they were just laying the foundation for their future friendship together.
We went to an Easter service Saturday night (Sunday was going to be too much for Noah with feeding, naps, and the drive back). For the most part, Noah slept in her grandmother’s arms through the entire service. She woke up near the end, and when I looked over at her, she was facing the front, jumping up and down to the music… having a ball! I am sure it was her way of giving praise to God, and I am sure He enjoyed it. We all enjoyed the service and wonderful opportunity to sing praises to God!
Sunday, while Noah was napping we watched The Church at Brook HIlls Easter sermon from last year. It was nice to spend a little time in the Word even though we didn’t get to go to any Sunday Easter services.
For lunch, we went to ML’s grandmother’s house. It was a smaller crowd than the usual 30+ people that are there, but it was nice to have a more intimate environment for a change. There were only four grandkids there to participate in the egg hunt, so I convinced ML that Noah needed to go help her cousins find the 300 eggs in the back yard.
While she didn’t exactly participate in the hunt, ML helped gather some eggs for her. She enjoyed playing with them and displaying her new found talent of sitting up!

And of course, we had to have a family picture. Hopefully, if I don’t procrastinate too much, I will have this one printed and framed by next Easter!

Since Emma (Emma Video) travels with us when go to visit family, we let her out to enjoy the hunt as well. It is a rare occasion that she gets to run without a leash. She took full advantage of the opportunity. Maybe someday she will have a yard she can run freely in.
We really enjoyed our weekend getting to spend time with family and celebrate the meaning of Easter. It’s nice to be back home now and have Noah back on her normal schedule.
Did anybody else do any weekend traveling? What about special egg hunts? Or have any family get togethers?
