We made our first big toy purchase for Noah the other week. A swimming pool! Now we didn’t go all Beverly Hillbillies and get a concrete pond, but we did get a little kiddie pool that she can play in (and I can soak my feet in).

She really had fun in the pool at my parent’s house last month, and I hated that ML wasn’t able to watch her play in it. So I decided she needed one of her own. It’s the typical five foot plastic pool with a slide that so many of us had as babies. And you know what? She loves it!

We only fill it up with a couple of inches of water, but she is really able to play more in this little pool than the big one at my parents house. And as for the slide… it’s a hit.

Of course, we will have to wait until next year before she can actually climb up and slide down herself.

While it doesn’t do anything aesthetically for the back yard, it has brought lots of enjoyment to Noah, and that makes me happy. It’s also nice to know that on a hot day we can go outside where she can play in the water, and I can cool my feet off as I sit in the chair underneath the umbrella. That way I can maintain my nice super white tan!

After she finishes playing, we just dump the water into our flower bed in the back, so that it doesn’t go to waste. This works out perfectly since this bed is always in need of water because the roots from the tree hog all the water here.

I might do a little research to see how we could incorporate this little pool into our backyard. Right now I am thinking maybe just adding a few planters around it for that Oh-so-luxurious, island getaway look! (haha)

Oh! I just had to share the flan I fixed for ML for Father’s Day. We enjoyed eating it while Noah splashed in the water.
